A self-paced course to discover the language, culture and legacy of the Romans aimed at beginners 11 years old and above.
Introductory Latin Course

What is the Introductory Latin Course about?
In this beginners course, I show students:
- How Latin is all around us
- Why we can study classical antiquity to understand our world better
- What the world of the Romans was like
I have created this taster class to guide students personally from the very beginning, so that they can experience a first, positive encounter with the language and ask any questions they have before they embark on the longer learning journey to discover the Romans.
How does self-paced learning work?
After a parent or carer purchases the course, they get direct access to videos, quizzes and resources to explore Latin. Materials are released over 7 days along with email guidance about discussing the learning with the student.
This course is not for you if
- Your student has already completed Common Entrance exams or started Latin as part of their GCSEs in Year 10
- You are only looking for grammar tables
- You want to practise only through translation drills
This course is for you if
- You want to see where Latin can take you
- You love all things ancient, from Percy Jackson to Latin spells!
- You are willing to ask questions if you want to find out more about a topic
Here is what happens when you enrol
- You get access to new materials every day for a week, and then have a whole year to complete it—although I doubt you will want to wait that long!
- You can watch all available videos as many times as you like in your own time
- You can play the games and complete the activities as many times as you like
- You get access to the comment section to ask me questions
